1. I am clear about the need for therapists to decolonize their training.
This is non-negotiable. It is important to decolonize so that therapists & healing practitioners do not unconsciously colonize the people by providing care through a Eurocentric lens and practices that either exasperate problems or gaslight them.
2. I actually disagree with the sentiments that we should throw away all your training.
I don't believe decolonizing means that your skills should be discarded. I trust in your natural gifts & the skills you have developed through years of experience in the field. 3. To truly decolonize, we must also Indigenize our practice and be rooted in ancestral Earth medicine.

4. To end the colonial cycle, the work must happen at the physical, spiritual, emotional, and psychological levels.

5. I disagree with shaming and blaming therapists who seek to change.
Most of the colonial indoctrination we have received has been unconscious, without our consent. I believe that when the therapists in my ecosystem show up in humility and right relationship and learn the truth of colonization, they can begin to decolonize their mind to show up in integrity so that together we can take up our sacred responsibility to create a better world.
6. I disagree with the rhetoric that states that you should be offering your healing practice in a way that serves the people but doesn't honor your needs.
This is servitude and only transfers suffering, it does not end it. The truth is that for you to show up ethically in your capacity, your healing work needs to be sustainable. As big as your heart is, you need to make money, you need to work in a way that honors your energetic and emotional capacity. This is not just about mindset, but about somatics, and processing the emotional layers & colonial patriarchal programming that has us colluding with our own oppression as healers.
7. I believe your pre-colonial healer ancestors prayed for you.
For someone in your lineage who would have the courage to break the colonial cycle. I believe you are here because this is part of your soul's calling and because your ancient ancestors are calling you in to reclaim and make things right.

Saludos Beloved, I'm Dra. Rocío
I stand at the intersection of ancestral Earth wisdom and medicine to navigate these times while planting seeds for a liberated future.
I'm a Mother, a Seer, a medicine woman in the Q'ero Inca lineage, and Counseling Psychology Ph.D. mentored by Black & Latin@ psychologists like Dr. Joe White, Dr. Thomas Parham, and Dr. Jeanett Castellanos, and by matriarchs, and Indigenous medicine people.
For 25 years, I've facilitated healing and guided people to unlearn the oppressive programming of our "modern" colonial society so that we can reclaim our wholeness, our wellness, and do our part to birth a new ancient world.
My work bridges worlds - helping you decolonize your mind to liberate your spirit while honoring both ancient traditions and the unique challenges of our times. My medicine is potent because of the gifts and channel the divine has given me and because of the powerful ancestors, matriarchs, & guides that show up with me.
The purpose of my work is to support you on your journey and to provide guidance that cultivates holistic wellness, connects you to a deeper sense of spirituality, and brings you back to your ancestors, guides, and your own wisdom & medicine so that together we live in harmony and balance with all of Creation.
But I have not always been here, I have walked the journey of decolonizing and reclaiming along with you.
Prior to my work now, I was a tenured psychology professor and psychologist, until living and working in that toxic environment led to a health collapse. Working in that oppressive work paradigm & denying and hiding my spiritual gifts became too much for my body and it said no more. Becoming a mother was what finally set me free and helped me let go of that oppressive way of life.
I am grateful to my ancestors - and my descendant! - for taking me out of that colonial world and returning me back to the sacred ways. While it is painful to see how deeply programmed I used to be - I now offer the teachings that helped me heal and get free. I am able to hold compassion for therapists who are indoctrinated by colonization because I am aware that there was a time I did not have this consciousness.
My path now weaves ancestral ways and new ways to meet the prophecy of these times. My work is deeply rooted in Earth and Cosmic wisdom. I walk and work in between the earthly and spiritual realms.
I am able to see beyond this ordinary reality to bring forth the highest timelines and visions into our earthly reality. I am grateful to my teachers, Pampamesayoq Don Alejandro Apaza, Don Justino Apaza, & Mesa Carrier and Medicine Woman Marilu Shinn for helping me remember.
I do not teach from theory—I teach from the medicine I deeply embody, from wounds turned to wisdom, and from the medicine that rises when we choose to decolonize and reclaim.
I am grateful to my Elder and teacher from the Q'ero Inca lineage, who taught me to show up compassionately for all, and who taught me to offer teachings from a place of harmonious frequency so that we can restore balance and harmony to our world.
