But medicine that is not protected, can energetically leak away, & a gift that leaks can never reach its full potency.
Here is what no one says to the gifted ones. Everyone celebrates a healing person who gives and gives and gives. They are adored, right up until the moment they step into their worth and finally choose to receive. They only becomes a problem when they stop underselling themselves or pouring themselves out for free.
So let's say the name, this overgiving is not the way of the ancient medicine people. This is COLONIAL PATRIARCHY, and WE are here to say WE DO NOT CONSENT.
What It Is Costing
Every season you stay unprotected, the healing gift starts to fade.
This is the slow erosion of the light you came here to carry. Not an instant collapse. A slow fading. The gift dimming one depleted day at a time, until it extinguishes on its own.
And it is not only your loss, Beloved. The people who were meant to find your medicine no longer find it. The work you were born for never takes form. A world that needs the healers more than ever loses one more to exhaustion, doubt, and "burn out".
That is the true cost. Not just your depletion, but everything your protected, resourced, sovereign self was here to bring. Everything your community is counting on you for. Everything that your ancestors prayed for.
It does not have to be this way dear one. What these times are calling forward is a different kind of healer.
Not the ones following the mainstream playbook. It is calling forward the ones who remember, the ones most spiritually rooted while not bypassing the reality of our times. The world is in chaos, and only growing more chaotic, and it is calling forward the ones who can stand inside the collapse without being swept into it. The ones who can hold steady when everything around them is moving.
The ones who can facilitate healing & lead in the midst of colonial collapse. That is your role in these times dear one. That is the work you were born for. But, you cannot lead from a field that is leaking.
Be like the ancient medicine people.
They gave their medicine, yes. But they did not give themselves away.
They protected their energy as fiercely as they protected their people, because they understood that the two were the same. They were powerful precisely because they were sovereign. Their receiving was sacred, and it was what allowed them to keep facilitating healing and leading, season after season, without ever compromising the medicine.
This is your inheritance. You come from them.
We are no longer doing depletion.
You were never meant to give until there is nothing left. You were meant to be sustained, to be sovereign, to take your rightful place among the medicine people who facilitated healing and led their communities through every age of collapse before this one.

There is a wound in the healing world that almost no one is treating.
We are trained, endlessly, in how to give. How to hold. How to pour ourselves out for the people who need us. And we are trained in almost nothing about how to stay sealed, sovereign, and sustained while we do it.
So the most gifted among us are so often the most depleted, not because we are weak, but because depth without protection empties the fastest . This is not a personal failing beloved. It is by DESIGN. A depleted healer is a contained one, and the truth is that the colonial paradigm is never troubled by our exhaustion. It actually depends on it .
These are prophetic times. And, they will ask more of exactly these healing people. And most of them are running on empty, with no one teaching them how to stop.
This work is how you stay rooted. And it is how the medicine that is so desperately needed survives these times.

I am a Seer, an initiated Medicine Woman in the Q'ero Inca lineage, a Counseling Psychology Ph.D., a mama, and a matriarch with more than 25 years of experience teaching & facilitating healing.
