I'M dr. ROCÍO
I have not always been here, I have walked the journey of decolonizing and reclaiming along with you.
My journey has been one of shedding colonial conditioning, returning to the wisdom of my ancestors, and learning to live, mother, and lead from Spirit—not from programming.
I, like you, was unconsciously programmed by the colonial capitalist patriarchy and severed from my sacred Indigenous Earth traditions.
Prior to my work now, I was a psychology professor and psychologist, until living and working in that toxic environment led to a health collapse. Working in that oppressive work paradigm & denying and hiding my spiritual gifts became too much for my body and it said no more. I am grateful my ancestors took me out of that colonial world and back to the sacred ways.
I now walk with reverence for the land, for my lineage, and for the sacred responsibility of this healing work. I do not teach from theory—I teach from lived experience, from wounds turned to wisdom, and from the medicine that rises when we choose to decolonize and reclaim.
While my journey is different as a Xicana/Mexicana, I am able to hold compassion for all, including white people, and facilitate healing because of my medicine path in the Q'ero Inca lineage and because I am aware that there was a time I did not have this consciousness.
That first-hand experience allows me to meet you compassionately because I see how much of our collusion is unconscious and is seen as "just the way things are", often masked as "progress." I deeply understand how much of a shock and disappointment it can be to awaken to colonial collusion and how what we need is guidance, truth telling, and compassion - not shame and judgment.
The vow I’ve taken as a medicine woman and the agreement my soul has made in this lifetime is to help restore harmony and balance to the world, personally & collectively. And that’s why I offer this work to you.
This is not about performing decolonization.
This is about becoming a good relative.
I will not shame you into this work. I will not ask you to perform your guilt or prove your commitment.
I will call you into the truth that you are already sensing, about your practice, about your conditioning, about your lineage, with compassion.
And I will call you to let that truth be the beginning of something real and transformative.
Your precolonial ancestors knew a different and more sacred way.
This unlearning is not only for the healing of the people you serve.
It is your LINEAGE WORK too.
