Naming It Podcast: Mental Revolution; Decolonizing Our Minds & Embracing Our Indigenous Selves

About

Bedford and LaMisha are joined by Conscious Intuitive Life Coach, Dr. Rocio Rosales Meza. They discussed What’s Going On with white saviorism in presidential politics in the form of Marianne Williamson. During RealTalk, the hosts interview Dr. Rosales Meza and discuss her work in social justice and social media. Particularly they focus on the concept of decolonizing our minds and finding mental health through reclaiming indigenous practices.

Saludos love,

I recently had a chance to talk to about all things decolonizing our mind with Dr. LaMisha Hill Ph.D. and Dr. Bedford Palmer Ph.D. on the Naming It Podcast. We got into so many issues I find myself having to go back to it, writing notes, and wanting to add more.

This is one of my favorite podcasts as it centers the voices of Black psychologists and folx of color. Please listen to hear our take on recent issues, on what colonial mentality is, how it shows up in our lives and some ways to combat it.

Set aside some time, and press play down below to listen to the full Naming It Podcast episode. And, come back and let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear from you! I think this is a timely episode as folx of color are feeling pressure to hide because of white supremacist attacks. This all settler colonial violence and impacts our spirit, our psyche. Don't allow it. You are far more powerful than they've led you to believe. And, together we are unstoppable!

I LOVE YOU AND I AM WITH YOU! ✊🏼💖 And, I'm curious what does decolonizing the mind mean to you?

Take a listen to the full episode below.

About Naming It Podcast

Naming It (@namingitpodcast) features Bay Area Psychologists, Dr. Bedford Palmer (@drbfpalmer) & Dr. LaMisha Hill (@lamishahill), who explore the intersections of Social Justice, Psychology, & Blackness. They introduce aspects of counseling psychology that are not commonly thought of, and engage listeners in a conversation about pop-culture and current events in a way that delves deeper, and focuses on how it all impacts on our lives. The Mission of Naming It is to call out the elephant in the room, and to call in the voices of social justice that are normally muted.
